What distinguishes Putzmeister spraying equipment is our knowledge and control over its main elements, both in the design and production. The concrete pump, spraying arm, chassis and control software are designed, developed and produced internally by Putzmeister. With this global vision of the product we create strong systems, perfectly synchronized and aligned with your needs and the harsh working conditions in tunnels and mines.

The Putzmeister Underground engineering department is located in Madrid, where the main components of our concrete spraying equipment are designed. Furthermore, Putzmeister Underground has the support of the central engineering department of the Putzmeister group in Germany that complements and enhances our research and development capabilities in relation to the basic components and systems, such as concrete pumps, chassis, and placing booms. The effort devoted to research and development is the basis of our strong global market position.

Putzmeister-Sika Alliance

In 2003, Putzmeister and the Swiss chemical company Sika formed a strategic alliance for the development of concrete spraying technology. This partnership combines the expertise and knowledge in spraying equipment and chemical additives for shotcrete. The fusion of the experience and knowledge of both companies leads to excellence in shotcrete technology. Working with Sika, Putzmeister remains at the forefront of chemical technology and processes.

A critical factor in the research is to reduce rebound during the shotcreting process, which requires a good mix of concrete and additives, correct air pressure in the spray head, and a constant flow of concrete. In the wet spraying process reduction of rebound to a minimum has been achieved, and the contribution of the machine to the reduction of rebound increases every year. Another area of research is the automation of the concrete spraying process to increase productivity.
