Putzmeister forms partnership with GHH & Mine Master

Putzmeister reaches an agreement with GHH & Mine Master to distribute and service drilling jumbos, bolting rigs and load haul dumpers to complement the company’s concrete spraying equipment for tunnelling. This partnership will start with Putzmeister distributing and marketing GHH & Mine Master machines in Spain, where the head office of Putzmeister´s Underground Concreting Division is based (Madrid). This initial agreement could be the starting point for a possible global operation.

Putzmeister is a worldwide market leader in concrete spraying equipment to stabilise excavations, galleries and slopes in tunnelling and mining.GHH & Mine Master provides machinery for the previous working stages of drilling and earth removal. Through this reciprocal product range, the companies broaden their product range in the tunnelling process, This leads to benefits for customers based in the Iberian Peninsula. Equipment and service solutions for all working stages can now be found in one source.

With almost 30 years of experience in designing and manufacturing concrete spraying equipment, Putzmeister is involved in major tunnelling and mining projects worldwide. The development of the New Austrian Tunnelling Method (NATM) led to a major increase in the use of shotcrete in rock support, relying upon the use of shotcrete to provide immediate active support after each round of advance. Putzmeister´s shotcrete manipulators apply concrete in tunnels and mines with rates of up to 30 m3 and spraying ranges of up to 17 m.

GHH Fahrzeuge, based in Germany, has been manufacturing LHD's (Load-Haul-Dump technique) with articulated steering for the mining industry since 1964. These were followed by ADT- dumpers. Roof scalers, telescopic trucks and other special vehicles are also included in the product line. More than 35 years of experience in the development, design and manufacture of vehicles characterise the quality, reliability and capability of GHH´s products.

Mine Master (formerly Boart Longyear Poland operating division) has spent the last 35 years manufacturing, distributing and servicing equipment for the underground metal mining and construction industries. Its principal products are a full range of drilling jumbos (Face Masters), roof bolting machines (Roof Masters) and excavator drilling attachments (Flexi Masters). The product applications are applied to a variety of tunnelling and mining environments. The company supplied over 300 drilling and bolting rigs to one of its major customers, KGHM Polish Copper Ltd (one of the world biggest primary copper producers).

GHH Fahrzeuge GmbH and Mine Master form a global alliance, with Schmidt, Kranz & Co.GmbH and GHH Fahrzeuge GmbH holding a 30% stake in the company.
